A Photo A Day

Created: April 3, 2007 Tag: Photography

During the summmer of 2003, something clicked and my interest in photography began. Throughout that summer, I would take pictures of flowers around the house, and clouds when ever I could find them. I continued on photo excursions whenever possible. Recently, I was given my first Digital-SLR for a graduation present, it is an Olympus EVOLT E-500(external link), I couldn't be happier.

Even with the new camera, recently, my interest in photography began to decline. To counter-act this dilemma, and to ensure that my interest would not fall any further, I created the project: A Photo A Day(external link). The idea is that I would take one photo each day, and upload it online to Flickr (read more | visit imagine24@Flickr(external link)) for everyone to view. In addition, I would add an accompanyng story and post it, along with the photo, to my blog (read more | visit my blog(external link)), This process would another dimension to the project.

The rules are simple: each day I must take one photo, between midnight and 11:59pm, and upload it during the same time period, unless there are extenuating circumstances. On some days I have to choose between 20 photos, and on other days, I choice needs to be made between a 100+ photos, depending on the day and what is happening in the world. Although, it is difficult to choose when there are more photos, the selection process is almost as fun as taking the photo.

I now transport my camera with me no matter where I go. You never know when a photo opportunity might occur.
